Midnight special

Le Midnight Special était un train de nuit quittant Houston au Texas à minuit. Il se dirigeait vers l'Ouest, San Antonio, El Paso... Son trajet le faisait passer devant l'ancienne prison ferme de Sugar Land, récemment transformée en musée d'histoire naturelle . La lampe à l'avant du train est devenue un symbole de liberté pour les noirs de l'est du Texas. On espérait que le jet de lumière dans la nuit s'infiltre entre les barreaux de la fenêtre du cachot d'un prisonnier, car selon la légende, c'était là le signe d'une libération prochaine.
